Residential | Orchard Lea
With four reception rooms Orchard Lea is a house with plenty of space for all the family. Having recently purchased the property the new owners were looking for help to reimagine the spaces to work well for them as a young family, and be suitable for hosting guests.

We worked through several versions of the floorplan to maximise the flow and use of each room, settling on a formal sitting room, designed to encourage screen free time and conversation; a sun room with comfortable seating to take in the garden views and enjoy indoor / outdoor living; a dining room with banquette seating overlooking the garden; and a snug for cosy film nights, where the addition of full length curtains across the opening and a large sofa bed allows this space to become an extra bedroom when required.

Tucked away in the picturesque village of Seaview the brief for the interiors was coastal yet comfortable and welcoming, we specified a mix of hard-wearing finishes and natural materials and textures to work in harmony with the existing details. The fresh colour palette utilises the blues and greens of the coastline to define each space and create the desired mood, inviting users to move through each room depending on the time of day.

There are some special details in this project, from beautiful handmade lighting, to locally sourced artwork and bespoke furniture and antiques, that sit together to create interesting, individual spaces. We are looking forward to sharing phase two of this project which includes the transformation of the first floor.
