Why work with an Interior Designer?

Updated: Jun 9, 2022

As our first blog post what better subject to cover than the benefits of working with an interior designer.

For some, working alongside an interior designer can be a new experience, one which can leave them wondering what to expect, or how much control they will have over their own renovation.

Firstly, let us put your mind at rest by saying at all times the client is in control. An interior designer’s job is to guide the client through the somewhat overwhelming choice of layouts and finishes, working with the existing architecture and reflecting the clients personality - incredible interior design does not happen by chance, well designed spaces are carefully researched, planned, and curated.

Working with an interior designer should be enjoyable, your designer will take the stress out of sourcing, finalising schemes, and can even liaise with contractors on your behalf. One of the main benefits is that they will be able to suggest options you may not have considered, or design bespoke pieces to fit your requirements. Each client is presented with several layout options to make the best of their space.

At Studio Jute we pride ourselves on making each design individual. Understanding our clients needs and getting to know them plays a key part in the originality of the design, so the more information you can give us the better!

Being able to see your choices in 3D before committing is also a huge benefit. At Studio Jute during the sourcing phase we provide clients with a 3D model highlighting the key finishes, this avoids costly mistakes and can put your mind at ease when investing in long term pieces.

The Isle of Wight is a creative and inspiring place and there are some brilliant makers and crafts people that Studio Jute collaborates with, giving your design a connection to the Island and true originality.

When it comes to renovations, we are all keen to get things moving as quickly as possible, working with an interior designer can do just that. Being able to confidently source furniture and finishes means the project will not be held up by decision making.

Working with an interior designer can also save you money, costly mistakes are avoided, careful planning of the finer details, such as lighting and electrics mean your contractors won’t be delayed. Ultimately, an experienced designer will advise the client where to spend and where to save, and passing on their trade discount can mean further savings across the project.

If you’ve got a project you’d like to discuss please get in touch to see how we can help.
